Participants will learn how to better organize daily operations, improve stock and order management, and use dashboards as decision-making tools.

Day 1: Organization and Operational Management

  • Introduction to management tools adapted to bookstores
  • Work planning and organization methods
  • Basic principles of stock management in bookstores
  • Methods and tools for effective inventory tracking
  • Optimizing the ordering process: working with distributors, managing delivery times, returns, and stock flow

Day 2: Dashboards and Management

  • Introduction to dashboards: purpose and benefits for booksellers
  • Identifying key indicators: sales, profitability, title turnover, and stock shortages

Isabelle Lemarchand

Isabelle Lemarchand has been serving as a librarian in London since 2008. She leads a team of eight at La Page, the UK’s historic French bookstore since 1978, specializing in general and children’s literature in French, as well as stationery. For the past ten years, Isabelle has been actively involved with the International Association of Francophone Booksellers (AILF). She plays a key role in developing training and professional development for booksellers, strengthening relationships with local and Paris-based francophone institutions, and promoting the visibility of booksellers within the book industry. These three areas are central to supporting and promoting French language and culture internationally.
