MATHIAS ECHENAY

After studying business in Toulouse, Mathias Echenay began his career as a sales representative for Seuil, where he later became Head of Sales. He then held sales director roles at Flammarion and Interforum, before becoming Managing Director of CDE and CEO of FED (part of the Gallimard/Madrigall group) for over eight years. In 2004, he founded Éditions la Volte and continues to work as a publisher. With over 30 years of experience supporting publishers of all sizes and genres, Mathias has developed deep expertise in book marketing and distribution — both for publishers and distributors.

Organization: Axiales is the only consulting firm in France that specializes in the book industry. Its team of eleven consultants are all experienced professionals who have held key roles across the publishing chain — including editorial, marketing, promotion, distribution, management, bookselling, and IT systems.
