Creation and Animation of a Reading Club (Governorate Sfax)

The ‘Creation and Animation of a Book Club’ offers the skills needed to establish a vibrant book club.
Participants will learn how to select works on a variety of themes, plan meetings with consistent frequency, lead enriching discussions and keep members engaged.
The modules cover managing a group, leading a debate, managing the logistics of meetings, promoting the club and creating an inclusive environment.
This course provides reading enthusiasts with the theoretical and practical tools to create a dynamic, thriving and engaged community of readers.

Objectives: 
- Make the book club a meeting place.
- Keep the club meeting regularly.
- Acquire notions of group facilitation and distribution of the floor.
- Lead debates on various subjects based on books.
- Manage the logistics of the book club.
- Promoting the club on social networks.
- Involving book club participants and getting to know some of its users better.
- Raising awareness of the importance of reading aloud in book clubs.
- Motivate participants to set up reading clubs in schools. in book clubs.
- Motivate participants to create book clubs in schools.

Training Schedule: Two-day course :
1/First day :
▪ Presentation of the challenges of a book club for young people (2 hours)
▪ Group management: structuring, leading a debate, conducting a critical reading of a book (6h)

2/ Second day:
▪Teenagers and reading: examples from the high school book club (2 hrs)
▪ Group management: speaking, listening, etc. (6 hrs) (2 x 4 hours)

Librarians, documentalists, schoolteachers, teachers, early childhood, social and leisure centre professionals, cultural mediators, association professionals and volunteers, booksellers, publishers, authors, illustrators, graphic designers, speech therapists, people undergoing retraining.
