Film Workshop: Analysis and Critical Writing during the Kélibia International Amateur Film Festival.

Practical Workshop on Analysis and Critical Writing Focused on Tunisian Films from the 37th Edition of FIFAK
Participants will be invited to engage in discussions and analyses of the films and to practice writing through individual pieces developed during group sessions. By the end of the workshop, each participant will be required to produce a written work on a film or a topic related to the festival. These pieces will be published online in the workshop's journal.
This workshop is an initiative of the Échos association, supported by the Massari programme.

Training Objectives:
This program aims to:
- Promote the presence of film critique and analysis in media content.
- Train participants in film analysis, critique, and writing.
- Produce critical texts on films from the FIFAK.
Participants :
Individuals who regularly publish writings or media content in any form (journalists, bloggers, content creators, podcasters, reporters)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a film enthusiast.
- Passionate about writing or content creation.
- Interested in acquiring tools for film analysis and cinema critique.
- Motivated to publish content related to cinema.
Participation Requirements :
- Must reside in Tunisia.
- Have written or created a publication in any public medium, including media and social networks.
- Available for all activities.
- Committed to writing a text for publication in the workshop's journal.

The program is free of charge and includes :
- The program will cover travel expenses.

- Free access to festival screenings
Training Program and Schedule:
- In-person in Kélibia from August 16 to August 25, 2024
- 50 hours of training and 6 evenings of festival screenings

Number of participants: : 12 maximum

Speakers / Trainers
Sihem Sidaoui
Sihem Sidaoui is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of La Manouba, where she teaches literature and film analysis. Following a PhD in Comparative Literature from La Sorbonne Nouvelle, her research increasingly focuses on the intersections between aesthetics and politics in literature and cinema. She is currently preparing her habilitation thesis on the theme of the Event and new Tunisian aesthetics post-2011 in literary and cinematic narratives. She also co-hosts the film club at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities with Imene Gharbi.Imen Gharbi
Imen Gharbi is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at La Manouba, and a former student of the École Normale Supérieure in Tunis. She teaches literature and civilization and co-hosts the film club at the faculty with Sihem Sidaoui. She is currently working on a master’s thesis in art history, specializing in comparative studies between literature and cinema. Her research focuses on a comparative reading of Patrick Chamoiseau and Werner Herzog, exploring themes of representation, the intersection of art and capital, and the relationship between art and ethics.
