Day 1: The Author-Publisher - Creation and Publication Relationship
- Presentation of the course and overview of the book chain
- The role of the author: from writing to finding a publisher
- The role of the publisher: selection of manuscripts and editorial work
- Publishing contracts: rights, obligations and negotiation
- Editorial marketing and launch strategy
Day 2: Publishing - Marketing and Distribution
- Introduction to distribution channels (publishers, distributors, platforms)
- Focus on digital distribution (ebooks, POD, audiobooks)
- Book visibility: press relations, social networks, literary events
Day 3: The Bookshop - Organisation and Management
- The bookseller's job: selection, shelving and stock management
- Relations between booksellers and publishers: negotiating and promoting titles

Speakers / Trainers
Prudientienne Houngnibo Gbaguidi
is a lawyer by training and has been a bookseller in Benin for almost 25 years. A former director of the Librairie Notre Dame in Cotonou, she founded the Librairie Savoir d'Afrique in Cotonou in 2021, with the ambition of supporting the book trade and promoting reading in Benin. Committed to the development of the sector, she is president of the Association des Libraires Professionnels du Bénin (ALPB), which she founded in 2019, and vice-president of the Association Internationale des Librairies Francophones (AILF). Winner of the Livres Hebdo ‘Librairies Francophones du Monde’ prize in 2020, she also serves on a number of literary juries. An active player in book promotion in Africa, she regularly takes part in book fairs and exhibitions and organises training courses for booksellers in Benin and Togo. In 2023, her commitment earned her the distinction of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la France. Convinced that booksellers are also cultural players, she is committed to developing this vision in her region.
