Olivier Jeandel

59, is a French book trade professional who has been based in South-East Asia since 1997. He is the Asia-Pacific regional administrator for the Association internationale des Libraires Francophones (AILF).
After working as a librarian for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cambodia and then Greece from 1997 to 2004, he returned to the book trade in 2004 and Cambodia, his wife's homeland, to set up his ‘Carnets d'Asie’ bookshops in Phnom Penh within the French Institute and in Siem Reap (restaurant, galleries, bookshop), followed in 2007 by a third bookshop, which soon became the main one in Thailand within the Alliance française in Bangkok. He has been dividing his time between these two countries for 17 years now. He has helped train booksellers and librarians in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Greece and France.
