Sofia Alaoui

is a French-Moroccan filmmaker, raised between Morocco and China. ecognized as one of the Arab Stars of Tomorrow by Screen Daily, she has directed several documentaries and the short film 'So What If the Goats Die' (Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival 2020 and César Award for Best Short Film 2021), followed by 'The Lake' for 20th Century Fox. Her debut feature film, 'Animalia,' won the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023.
