About « Cinéphilia » :

This project is part of the broader Cinéphilia initiative. which focuses on capacity-building in cultural mediation, audience engagement, and project management. 

This training also provides access to other modules of the Cinéphilia program by Échos Cinématographiques.

At the end of the training, participants will be invited to take part in the cine-club activities at Le Majestic Cinema in Bizerte. 

Training objectives : 

- Learn how to program and facilitate film screenings.

- Gain experience in leading discussions with audiences.

- Support the creation and continuity of cine-clubs after the training ends.

Terms of participation : 

- Have an interest in cultural mediation and film programming.

- Reside in Tunisia (priority will be given to applicants living in Bizerte).

- Be fully available for the entire program from June 21 to June 25, 2025.

Beneficiaries:

Film lovers, amateur or experienced film club organisers, filmmakers, curators and programmers.

Motivated persons with a strong interest in the mediation and transmission of film culture.

Speakers / Trainers


Abdessalem Chaabane : A key figure in Tunisia’s cine-club movement. He was a member of the Federal Bureau of the Tunisian Federation of Cine-Clubs (2021–2024) and editor-in-chief of NAWADI-Cinema, a critical journal on the art of cinema. With extensive experience in presenting films and leading debates, he regularly contributes to major film events such as the Carthage Film Days (JCC), the Kélibia International Amateur Film Festival (FIFAK), and Gabès Cinema Fen. His work combines pedagogical rigor with a deep passion for cinema, with a strong focus on education and transmission. He is also a General Inspector of Education and a professor of educational psychology at the Higher Institute of Social Sciences and Education in Gafsa, where he develops an educational approach to cinema as a tool for thought, dialogue, and citizenship.

Mohamed Frini : An expert in film distribution and cultural mediation, he is the director of HAKKA Distribution, Tunisia’s first independent cinema distribution company, founded in 2013 and now one of the most active in the country. From 2015 to 2023, he managed the AMILCAR theaters in Tunis and from 2019 to 2024, the MÉTROPOLE in Menzel Bourguiba, turning them into important venues for arthouse cinema.
He also co-founded ÉCHOS Cinématographiques in 2017, a cultural association promoting film appreciation in Tunisia.
Through distribution, public-interest cultural projects, and collaborations with institutions, he works to develop strong national structures for cinema, improving access and growing cinephile spaces across the country.
