Objectives :

  • Discover how a book is physically produced at the printing stage.
  • Explore the material and logistical aspects of book production (paper types, binding, finishing, etc.).

Training Outline:

  • Part1 – July 11, 2025

This session focuses on the essential steps a manuscript goes through before printing. Topics include text formatting, proofreading, pages layout with technical specifications, cover design, final file validation (soft proof approval), and preparing the print-ready PDF for the printer.

  • Part2 – July 12, 2025

This phase will take place entirely on the premises of MIP Livre., and will cover the physical production of a book. It includes a theoretical overview of technical decisions (paper types, formats, binding, printing methods, finishing touches,…), followed by a hands-on experience inside the print workshop.
Participants will observe the machines in action and gain a deeper understanding of each step, from file preparation to the final printed book.

Speakers / Trainers


Anis Menzli is a graduate of the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Tunis (ISBAT), where he specialised in Arts & Communication, with a focus on graphic design. He has taught at ISBAT as an expert in specific computer graphics, digital publishing, printing techniques and methodology applied to graphic design. He was also an instructor at the International University of Carthage (UIK), where he led workshops in computer graphics, graphic advertising, methodology and signage. At the same time, he founded and directed ALPHAWIN STUDIO / ANIS MENZLI, a studio specialising in graphic design and publishing.

Mourad Boubaker has a degree in financial management and currently runs the MIP and MIP Livre printing plants as managing director. With over thirty years' experience in book printing and manufacturing, he has acquired in-depth expertise in the field of book printing and manufacturing.
