Echos cinématographiques, in collaboration with Sentiers and Théâtre El Hamra, have developed this training course for film enthusiasts wishing to become film club animators. This initiative is part of the re-launch of the Théâtre El Hamra's film club, with the aim of encouraging the establishment of a local activity based around auteur cinema.

Training objectives : 

  • Learn how to programme and run film screenings.

  • Gain experience in leading discussions with audiences.
  • Encourage the creation and continuity of film clubs beyond the training period.

Participation and Commitment :

 Upon completion of the training, participants will be invited to contribute to film club sessions at the Théâtre El Hamra from January 2025. 

This training grants access to additional film club courses offered by the Echos Cinématographiques association.

Beneficiaries:

Film lovers, amateur or experienced film club organisers, filmmakers, curators and programmers.

Motivated persons with a strong interest in the mediation and transmission of film culture.

At the end of the course, participants will be invited to prepare a presentation or final project related to film club activities.

Conditions of participation :

- Reside in Tunisia

- Undertake to be fully available for all activities from 23 to 27 December 2024.

- Demonstrate an interest in cultural mediation and film programming.

Support : : 

The programme is free of charge and provides : 

  • Travel expenses. 
  • Accommodation and meals.

Insaf Machta

Insaf Machta teaches French literature and cinema at the University of Tunis. Since 2017, she has been the president of the Sentiers association. She was a member of the editorial team of the magazine Cinécrits from 1994 to 2000, where she wrote her first articles on film criticism. She has published articles on cinema on the Nachaz, Nawaat and Archipels Images websites. Within the Sentiers association, she develops projects relating to the dissemination of film culture and organises events and film workshops (image reading and making) aimed at three age groups: children, teenagers and young adults.
